Colour: Deep, intense ruby red.

Food Pairings : Duck breast with morels, veal with foie gras.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is considered one of the most prestigious and renowned wine estates in the world. Its history dates back more than two centuries and is closely linked to the wine region of Burgundy, France. The history of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti began in the 18th century, when the property was acquired by Prince Louis-François de Bourbon-Condé, a member of the French royal family. The vineyard is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy.

In 1815, the vineyard was bought by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, who was a distant relative of the previous owners. It was he who gave the estate its present name, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Under his management, the vineyard gained in reputation and the quality of the wines improved. In 1869, the estate passed into the hands of the de Villaine family, when the daughter of Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet married Count Edouard de Villaine. The de Villaine family still owns the estate today. Over the decades, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has gained worldwide recognition for the exceptional quality of its wines. It owns and operates some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy, including Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg, La Tâche, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux, which are all classified as Grand Cru.

The estate is known for its production philosophy of quality and tradition. The vines are grown organically, and the winemaking is done with a meticulous, artisanal approach. Yields are kept very low to ensure the concentration and complexity of the wines.

Because of the rarity and exceptional quality of its wines, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is also known as one of the most expensive estates in the world. Bottles of Romanée-Conti are often considered treasures and are sought after by collectors and wine lovers around the world.
