Delas Frères is a wine merchant based in the Rhône Valley region of France. Its history dates back to the 19th century. The history of Delas Frères began in 1835, when Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas founded the company Audibert et Delas in Tournon-sur-Rhône. The company quickly specialised in the production and sale of wines from the Rhône Valley, a region renowned for its red and white wines.

In 1924, the Jaboulet family took control of Delas Frères. The Jaboulet family is itself an emblematic family of the Rhône Valley, with a long tradition in viticulture. Under the management of the Jaboulet family, Delas Frères enjoyed a period of growth and prosperity. Over the decades, Delas Frères acquired an international reputation for the quality of its wines, particularly those from the Rhône Valley's prestigious appellations, such as Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie and Cornas. The company is committed to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Rhône Valley, with an emphasis on the authentic expression of grape varieties and appellations.

In 1977, the winery was acquired by the Swiss group Deutz, which continued to invest in modernising its facilities and promoting the quality of Delas Frères wines. Over the last few decades, Delas Frères has continued to expand its range of wines, while preserving the tradition and authenticity that characterise its production. Delas Frères wines are appreciated by wine lovers and critics alike, consolidating its position as one of the most respected wine merchants in the Rhône Valley.

L’article Maison Delas Frères Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes 2019 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, also known as Pichon Lalande, is an iconic wine estate in the Pauillac appellation on the left bank of the Bordeaux region of France. Its history dates back to the 17th century. The estate was created by Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan in the early 18th century, when he acquired part of the vast Rauzan vineyard in Pauillac. At the time, it was known as Château Pichon Longueville. The vineyard grew over the years, thanks in particular to the acquisition of adjacent land. In 1850, the de Pichon Longueville family inherited the estate and, through the marriage of Sophie de Pichon Longueville to Count Henri de Lalande, the name was changed to Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The estate has known periods of glory and decline throughout its history. In the 19th century, it was renowned for producing wines of exceptional quality, and was often ranked among the top Bordeaux crus. During the phylloxera crisis at the end of the 19th century, the estate was forced to reduce its surface area and suffered economic difficulties.

However, from the mid-twentieth century onwards, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande enjoyed a renaissance thanks to passionate and determined owners. In 1978, the de Lencquesaing family took over the reins of the estate and undertook major investments to restore the vines, modernise the facilities and improve the quality of the wines. Under the leadership of May-Éliane de Lencquesaing, the estate has become world-renowned for its exceptional wines. Pichon Lalande wines are distinguished by their elegance, complexity and ability to age gracefully.

In 2007, the Rouzaud family, owners of the Louis Roederer champagne house, acquired Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. They have continued to invest in the estate and preserve Pichon Lalande's tradition of excellence. Today, the estate covers around 85 hectares of vines, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The château also produces a second wine called "Réserve de la Comtesse", as well as a white wine under the "Pauillac" appellation. Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande remains a symbol of Bordeaux excellence, combining tradition, history and expertise to produce top-quality wines that are appreciated by wine-lovers the world over.

L’article Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2ème Grand Cru Classé 1989 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Domaine Leflaive: biodynamic farming, a matter of course for 25 years

Nature, the earth and its environment are at the heart of a living system, whose balance is the source of life. This deep conviction has led Anne-Claude Leflaive to connect the entire estate to biodynamic farming since 1996. This philosophy is also a demanding and pragmatic practice that promotes life and basic energy. It is not a method of fighting, for example, cryptogamic diseases, but it keeps parasites at an acceptable level. The health of the vines is strengthened. The wines themselves gain in balance, finesse and elegance. Brice de La Morandière, family manager since 2015, continues to develop the estate according to this philosophy and ethics.

L’article Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2005 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

On the site known as Roc Blancan, literally the "white rock", the Ausone estate is anchored on the hillside. A mineral theatre slowly sculpted by man: for two millennia, life, like the vine, has chosen the stone to settle. The rock, however, offers much more than a setting for the wine: it is an intimate part of it. In its limestone, the vines take root. In its underground quarries, converted into cellars since the 18th century, the barrels wait. Between silence and darkness, the hygrometry and thermal inertia culminate and offer unique conditions for maturing.

The château distributes its seven hectares of vines in small terraces. Surrounded by stone, the plots are sheltered from the wind and enjoy a perfect east-south-east exposure. The Vauthier family has watched over the vineyard since 1690, with an unchanged passion for the land. Here, everyone gets their hands dirty in the cellars. Alain and his eldest daughter Pauline, the eleventh generation of winegrowers, make the wine today, faithful to the spirit of their forefathers.

L’article Château Ausone 1er Grand Cru Classé A 1996 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.
