Situated on the heights of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau, Château Canon enjoys an exceptional location. Situated on the right bank of Bordeaux, the superb property takes its name from the famous sailor and privateer of the King, Jacques Kanon. In 1954, Château Canon was made a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion.
For a long time associated with Merlot, Cabernet Franc complements it and expresses itself wonderfully on limestone soils. Freshness, finesse and structure are all characteristics that Cabernet Franc brings to Château Canon wines. It gives subtle wines with a nice acidity. It gives them a nice aromatic length around varied and complex empyreumatic and mineral notes.
Soft on the palate, mellow and supple, the Merlots are flattering: they offer a beautiful presence and roundness in the mouth. Subtle, refined, with fine and silky tannins, the Merlots give Château Canon suppleness, smoothness and charm.
