In the 3rd-2nd century BC, Falerno wine is said to have been offered by Bacchus as a reward for the generous hospitality of the inhabitants of Ager Falernus. Falerno del Massico, produced in this region, was the most sought-after wine of the time, establishing the concept of a territory of origin, the precursor of the modern DOC. The prosperity of the region was based on micro-businesses organised in a network, mastering every aspect of production, including the manufacture of amphorae, thus laying the foundations for the modern concept of "made in...".

Fattoria Pagano recognises this historical responsibility and is committed to pursuing excellence using age-old cultivation methods. Their priority is to add value to Falerno by respecting production parameters to guarantee total customer satisfaction.

In 2001, Antonio Pagano's idea of introducing Falerno del Massico to the world gave birth to their company. A descendant of the famous Roman wine Falernum, this wine, once prized by the Roman emperors, had been forgotten after the decline of the Empire. Rediscovery began in the 19th century, but it was only recently that local producers decided to recreate this exceptional wine. The passion of Antonio and his son has given rise to their company, located in the Casertano and Irpinia areas.
