Domaine de Miraval is a wine estate located in Provence, in the south of France. The Miraval region was already used to grow vines in Roman times, dating back more than 2,000 years. Over the centuries, the estate passed through the hands of various noble families and local lords. It has continued to be used for wine production. The name "Miraval" comes from the Miraval family, who owned the estate from the 17th century onwards. In 1970, the estate was bought by the Perrin family, a well-known winemaking family in the region. The Perrin family also own the famous Château de Beaucastel, a renowned winery in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region.

In 2008, the Miraval estate became world-famous when Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt bought it. The couple invested in modernising the vineyard and cellar, while continuing to produce quality wines. Miraval wines, particularly the rosé, quickly gained in popularity and international recognition. The estate has become synonymous with high-quality Provence wine. In 2016, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced their separation, but they remained owners of the Miraval estate. They continued to collaborate on the management of the estate and wine production despite their divorce.

In addition to wine production, Domaine de Miraval also offers luxury accommodation, including villas, which have attracted other celebrities and personalities from all over the world. The history of Domaine de Miraval is a fascinating example of how a traditional wine estate can evolve into a major player in the global wine industry while being associated with famous film personalities. Miraval wines are now considered to be among the finest in Provence.

L’article Domaine Miraval Studio By Miraval rosé 2022 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Colour : Intense, deep red with slightly tile-like highlights.

Nose : Complex and mature. Notes of ripe black fruit, such as black cherry and plum, are accompanied by hints of blackcurrant and blackberry. Aromas of tobacco, leather and cedar mingle subtly, adding an extra dimension of aromatic complexity.

Food Pairings : It goes perfectly with game in sauce, mature cheeses and most beef dishes.

The history of Château Beychevelle dates back to the 16th century. The estate was originally called "Maison Noble de Beychevelle" and was owned by the Ducs d'Epernon, a powerful French noble family. Situated on the banks of the Gironde, the château enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, in the Médoc wine-growing region of Bordeaux. The name "Beychevelle" originates from a Gascon expression meaning "sail-lowering", referring to a tradition whereby ships had to lower their sails in front of the château as they passed it on the Gironde estuary.

Over the centuries, ownership of the château changed hands several times. In 1755, the estate was acquired by the Famille-François de Fumel family, who played a major role in the development and renown of the château. Under their management, the château and its vineyards were extended and improved, and the quality of the wines produced was considerably enhanced. In 1826, the château was sold to the Achille-Fould family, who held it until 1868, when it was bought by a consortium of Bordeaux wine merchants led by the Castéja family. The Castéja family still own the château today. Over the last few decades, Château Beychevelle has invested heavily in modernising its winemaking and ageing facilities, while preserving the traditional methods of Bordeaux wine production. The estate now boasts well-maintained vineyards covering around 90 hectares, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes.

Today, Château Beychevelle is recognised worldwide for the quality of its wines. It is classified as a Fourth Growth in the official 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines. Château Beychevelle wines are renowned for their elegance, balance and ability to age well.

L’article Château Beychevelle Saint Julien 4ème Grand Cru Classé 1988 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

On the site known as Roc Blancan, literally the "white rock", the Ausone estate is anchored on the hillside. A mineral theatre slowly sculpted by man: for two millennia, life, like the vine, has chosen the stone to settle. The rock, however, offers much more than a setting for the wine: it is an intimate part of it. In its limestone, the vines take root. In its underground quarries, converted into cellars since the 18th century, the barrels wait. Between silence and darkness, the hygrometry and thermal inertia culminate and offer unique conditions for maturing.

The château distributes its seven hectares of vines in small terraces. Surrounded by stone, the plots are sheltered from the wind and enjoy a perfect east-south-east exposure. The Vauthier family has watched over the vineyard since 1690, with an unchanged passion for the land. Here, everyone gets their hands dirty in the cellars. Alain and his eldest daughter Pauline, the eleventh generation of winegrowers, make the wine today, faithful to the spirit of their forefathers.

L’article Château Ausone 1er Grand Cru Classé A 1996 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

The Grand Vin of Château Margaux has been recognised since the 17th century as one of the greatest wines in the world.

It owes its unique qualities to the genius of its terroir and the passionate work of a succession of generations. It is a remarkable wine that comes from a combination of characteristics rarely found: finesse, elegance, complexity, density, intensity, length and freshness. Although its tannic concentration is often exceptional, it is rare to detect astringency.

The great vintages are distinguished by their formidable capacity to move us. Smaller vintages are the delight of discerning wine lovers. They have the advantage of evolving more quickly and, after a few years, they reveal, in the absence of power, the subtlety that is the prerogative of the great terroirs.

Château Margaux has an extraordinary capacity for evolution. Over the years, it has developed remarkable finesse, aromatic complexity and presence on the palate.

L’article Château Margaux 1er Grand Cru Classé 1996 Magnum est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

It produces one of the most prestigious Bordeaux wines, which bears the same name. Château Haut-Brion is a "premier grand cru classé" according to the 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines. It shares this rare distinction with Château Margaux, Château Latour, Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Lafite Rothschild. In addition, Chateau Haut-Brion is also classified as a Graves Cru in the 1959 classification.

The success of Château Haut-Brion is based on its respect for tradition, its values and its unique know-how acquired over the centuries, as well as on an innovative vision which gives it its modernity. Through its wines, the estate aims to reveal the quintessence of an exceptional terroir.

L’article Chateau Haut Brion 1er Grand Cru Classé 1982 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.
