The estate was founded by Emmanuel Rouget, the nephew of Henri Jayer, a highly respected winemaker in Burgundy. Emmanuel worked with his uncle for several years before creating his own domaine in 1985. At first, the domaine was very small, with only two hectares of vines, but Emmanuel quickly gained a reputation for producing high quality wines. Over the years, he purchased additional parcels of vineyards, bringing the total area of the estate to about 8 hectares. Today the estate is managed by his son, Nicolas Rouget, who worked with his father for many years and inherited his know-how.<\/p>\n
Today, Domaine Emmanuel Rouget is considered one of the best wine producers in Burgundy, with an international reputation for its elegant and complex red wines.
