Colour: Deep, intense ruby red.

Food Pairings : Duck breast with morels, veal with foie gras.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is considered one of the most prestigious and renowned wine estates in the world. Its history dates back more than two centuries and is closely linked to the wine region of Burgundy, France. The history of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti began in the 18th century, when the property was acquired by Prince Louis-François de Bourbon-Condé, a member of the French royal family. The vineyard is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy.

In 1815, the vineyard was bought by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, who was a distant relative of the previous owners. It was he who gave the estate its present name, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Under his management, the vineyard gained in reputation and the quality of the wines improved. In 1869, the estate passed into the hands of the de Villaine family, when the daughter of Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet married Count Edouard de Villaine. The de Villaine family still owns the estate today. Over the decades, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has gained worldwide recognition for the exceptional quality of its wines. It owns and operates some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy, including Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg, La Tâche, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux, which are all classified as Grand Cru.

The estate is known for its production philosophy of quality and tradition. The vines are grown organically, and the winemaking is done with a meticulous, artisanal approach. Yields are kept very low to ensure the concentration and complexity of the wines.

Because of the rarity and exceptional quality of its wines, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is also known as one of the most expensive estates in the world. Bottles of Romanée-Conti are often considered treasures and are sought after by collectors and wine lovers around the world.

Domaine Georges Roumier is one of the most renowned wine estates in Burgundy, France. Its history goes back several generations and is closely linked to the Roumier family. The estate was founded by Georges Roumier in the 1920s. Originally, the estate consisted mainly of vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, a famous wine-producing commune in Burgundy. Georges Roumier was one of the first winemakers in the region to bottle his own wines, rather than selling them in bulk. Over the years, the domaine expanded and acquired parcels in other prestigious Burgundy appellations, including Morey-Saint-Denis and Bonnes-Mares. Georges Roumier was known for his meticulous approach to viticulture and his constant search for quality. Georges' son, Jean-Marie Roumier, took over the estate in the 1950s. He continued to develop the reputation of the estate and worked to expand the vineyards.

Today, the estate is run by Christophe Roumier, Georges' grandson. Christophe joined the estate in 1982 and brought his own vision and passion for viticulture. He is recognised as one of the most talented winemakers in the region and has maintained the excellence and reputation of the estate. Domaine Georges Roumier is renowned for producing classy, elegant and expressive wines that capture the quintessence of Burgundy terroirs. Their approach to viticulture is based on respect for nature and the search for balance in the vineyards.

With carefully tended vineyards and traditional winemaking practices, Domaine Georges Roumier continues to be one of the most sought-after estates in Burgundy, with worldwide demand for its wines often outstripping the limited supply.

L’article Domaine Georges Roumier Clos de la Bussiere 1er Cru 2009 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

The Domaine de la Vougeraie was born in 1999 around an entity and a name. La Vougeraie, a family home, symbolises the filiation of Jean-Claude and Claudine Boisset with today Nathalie and Jean-Charles, their children, who are at the origin of the rebirth of this estate, and of Vougeot, which brings together the heart of the vineyard. The same passion has been present since its birth, with the same unceasingly renewed demands.

La Vougeraie is about revealing the terroirs in excellence. A demanding philosophy expressed from the outset by the choice of organic viticulture: to find living soil, the essence of exalting wines. Very quickly, from 2001, biodynamic viticulture took its first steps, gently, in a more holistic vision.

L’article Domaine de la Vougeraie Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2009 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti dates from the 18th century. It is a symbol of French excellence. Every wine lover dreams of being able to taste one of its bottles one day. Produced in small quantities, they are now very rare and, as a result, highly sought after. There are not enough of them to satisfy all wine lovers, which is why some bottles sometimes fetch record prices. Vintages from 1959, 1999, 2005 and 2009 are particularly popular, as are the record-breaking 2015 vintages.

"Vin de Prince, it is velvet, seduction and mystery. It is the most Proustian of the great wines: under the secret perfume of a rose petal, barely faded, of a Romanée-Conti 1956, is it not the intense and pure sensation of Time Regained that invades us? Could it be that the gods have left us a souvenir in this square of land? The fascinating trace of a timeless perfection?
