Colour: Deep ruby with purple highlights.

Nose : Intense and complex. Aromas of ripe black fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, blend harmoniously with subtle notes of vanilla, tobacco, cedar and an elegant floral touch.

Food Pairings : Entrecôte of beef, suckling lamb, stuffed capon, camembert with calvados.

Château La Lagune is located in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. The first traces of Château La Lagune date back to the 18th century. At that time, the property was already being used for wine production, but it was only later that it gained renown.

Château La Lagune was included in the official classification of Bordeaux wines drawn up for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1855. It was awarded the status of 3rd Grand Cru Classé, a recognition that underlined the exceptional quality of its wines. The estate underwent several changes of ownership during the 20th century. In 1956, René Chayoux acquired the estate and undertook major investments to modernise the winemaking facilities and vineyards. In 2000, Caroline Frey and her family bought Château La Lagune. Caroline Frey, a passionate oenologist, has continued to modernise viticultural practices and maintain the estate's reputation for excellence.

Today, Château La Lagune covers an area of around 80 hectares, much of which is planted with noble grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The vines benefit from an exceptional terroir, with gravelly soils and favourable exposure. Château La Lagune wines are renowned for their elegance, structure and ageing potential. They embody the tradition and savoir-faire of the Haut-Médoc region, while continuing to evolve under the guidance of dedicated owners like Caroline Frey.

L’article Château La Lagune 3ème Grand Cru Classé 2015 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

A vineyard overlooked by a manor house built at the end of the 16th century, the "Mayne" was for two centuries the property of the Laveau family who acquired it in 1685. The attentive and loving care of Jean Laveau raised the reputation of the vineyard to the highest level, as evidenced by the wine prices and mentions in the Féret. The "Mayne" then constituted, with Figeac and Soutard, one of the most important estates in Saint-Emilion. The game of divisions eventually dismantled the Laveau empire, which saw various owners succeed it until the beginning of the 20th century, when the Nony family became the owners of what had become, over time, "Grand Mayne".

The Chateau represents a homogeneous group of stone buildings. Built in the 16th and 17th centuries, the castle dominates the vineyards in which it is located. The functional buildings adjoining the castle were built in the 17th century with stones extracted from regional limestone quarries. The architects of the time wanted to protect the château from intruders and the western ocean winds by constructing a long building facing due west, the rhythm of which is harmoniously broken in the centre by a paved, arched porch through which horse-drawn carriages could enter. A huge cellar and outbuildings have been added over the years to this vast complex, which is bounded by long stone and rubble walls. As for the vineyard, it is in one piece, ideally situated on the slopes and at the foot of the slopes.

L’article Château Grand Mayne Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé 2014 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Situated on the heights of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau, Château Canon enjoys an exceptional location. Situated on the right bank of Bordeaux, the superb property takes its name from the famous sailor and privateer of the King, Jacques Kanon. In 1954, Château Canon was made a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion.

For a long time associated with Merlot, Cabernet Franc complements it and expresses itself wonderfully on limestone soils. Freshness, finesse and structure are all characteristics that Cabernet Franc brings to Château Canon wines. It gives subtle wines with a nice acidity. It gives them a nice aromatic length around varied and complex empyreumatic and mineral notes.

Soft on the palate, mellow and supple, the Merlots are flattering: they offer a beautiful presence and roundness in the mouth. Subtle, refined, with fine and silky tannins, the Merlots give Château Canon suppleness, smoothness and charm.

L’article Château Canon Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé « B » 2018 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.
