A vineyard that has been entirely restored since its acquisition in 1991 by Patricia Ortelli. The vines have been replanted in a north-south direction on land with a balanced limestone texture that has been subsoiled, drained and levelled and extends over several sunny terraces. Situated at an altitude of 380 m in a cone generating a microclimate, this terroir is very favourable to vines already cultivated by the Romans.

The soil is maintained according to ancient practices = claws, ploughing, no weedkillers or chemical fertilisers. The treatments are traditional, essentially copper and sulphur. Since 1996, the vineyard has been certified organic (ECOCERT control).

L’article Château La Calisse Blanc 2022 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

It was founded by Jules Lafon in the early 20th century. Jules Lafon was a visionary winegrower who acquired parcels of vines in the best terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Over the years, Jules Lafon and his son, René Lafon, worked hard to develop the estate and improve the quality of their wines. They have adopted traditional viticultural practices and were among the first to implement biodynamic viticulture techniques in Burgundy.

The estate has vineyards in several prestigious appellations, including Meursault, Volnay and Montrachet. These vineyards benefit from limestone and clay soils, as well as an ideal climate for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. René Lafon's work was continued by Dominique Lafon, his son, who took over the estate in the 1980s. Dominique continued to cultivate the vines according to biodynamic principles, using natural preparations to nourish the soil and avoiding chemicals. Under Dominique Lafon's leadership, Domaine des Comtes Lafon has become a benchmark for white Burgundy wines. The wines produced by the estate are characterised by their elegance, their purity and their ability to reflect the terroir from which they are made.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is considered one of the most prestigious and renowned wine estates in the world. Its history dates back more than two centuries and is closely linked to the wine region of Burgundy, France. The history of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti began in the 18th century, when the property was acquired by Prince Louis-François de Bourbon-Condé, a member of the French royal family. The vineyard is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy.

In 1815, the vineyard was bought by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, who was a distant relative of the previous owners. It was he who gave the estate its present name, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Under his management, the vineyard gained in reputation and the quality of the wines improved. In 1869, the estate passed into the hands of the de Villaine family, when the daughter of Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet married Count Edouard de Villaine. The de Villaine family still owns the estate today. Over the decades, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has gained worldwide recognition for the exceptional quality of its wines. It owns and operates some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy, including Romanée-Conti, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg, La Tâche, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux, which are all classified as Grand Cru.

The estate is known for its production philosophy of quality and tradition. The vines are grown organically, and the winemaking is done with a meticulous, artisanal approach. Yields are kept very low to ensure the concentration and complexity of the wines.

Because of the rarity and exceptional quality of its wines, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is also known as one of the most expensive estates in the world. Bottles of Romanée-Conti are often considered treasures and are sought after by collectors and wine lovers around the world.

The origins of the estate go back to the middle of the 19th century, but it is Amédée Merme who is going to enlarge and structure the vineyard at the beginning of the 20th century. Accompanied by his son Armand, they sought to ensure the reputation of the estate in France and beyond by producing quality wines. In the 1970s, Marie France Merme continued the work of her father Armand with her husband Henri Perrot-Minot. After Armand's death, Marie-France and Henri took over the reins of the estate, which was renamed Perrot-Minot. Together, they perpetuated the tradition of quality and innovation that had already prevailed in the previous two generations.

In 1993, their son Christophe Perrot-Minot joined the domain and took over the management, after having worked as a wine broker for seven years. His previous experiences have given him a deep and broad knowledge of the winegrowing profession.

L’article Domaine Perrot-Minot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 2010 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.

Domaine Georges Roumier is one of the most renowned wine estates in Burgundy, France. Its history goes back several generations and is closely linked to the Roumier family. The estate was founded by Georges Roumier in the 1920s. Originally, the estate consisted mainly of vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, a famous wine-producing commune in Burgundy. Georges Roumier was one of the first winemakers in the region to bottle his own wines, rather than selling them in bulk. Over the years, the domaine expanded and acquired parcels in other prestigious Burgundy appellations, including Morey-Saint-Denis and Bonnes-Mares. Georges Roumier was known for his meticulous approach to viticulture and his constant search for quality. Georges' son, Jean-Marie Roumier, took over the estate in the 1950s. He continued to develop the reputation of the estate and worked to expand the vineyards.

Today, the estate is run by Christophe Roumier, Georges' grandson. Christophe joined the estate in 1982 and brought his own vision and passion for viticulture. He is recognised as one of the most talented winemakers in the region and has maintained the excellence and reputation of the estate. Domaine Georges Roumier is renowned for producing classy, elegant and expressive wines that capture the quintessence of Burgundy terroirs. Their approach to viticulture is based on respect for nature and the search for balance in the vineyards.

With carefully tended vineyards and traditional winemaking practices, Domaine Georges Roumier continues to be one of the most sought-after estates in Burgundy, with worldwide demand for its wines often outstripping the limited supply.

L’article Domaine Georges Roumier Clos de la Bussiere 1er Cru 2009 est apparu en premier sur Riviera Cellars Wine Supply French Riviera.
