Domaine Cécile Tremblay Echézeaux Grand Cru « du dessus » 2016

Colour Deep, intense red with violet highlights.

Nose : Powerful and complex, revealing great aromatic intensity. Ripe black fruit aromas such as black cherry, blackberry and plum, as well as more delicate red fruit notes such as raspberry. Floral nuances, such as violet, add an extra dimension to the whole. Sweet spice notes, such as cinnamon and clove, blend harmoniously with the fruity aromas.

Palate :  Rich, generous and structured. The tannins are firm but well integrated, providing a velvety texture. The black fruit flavours are confirmed, with subtle hints of red berries and blackcurrant. There are also hints of liquorice, undergrowth and a hint of smoke. The complexity is supported by a nice freshness, which brings a certain vivacity to the whole. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation in the mouth.

Food Pairings : It goes perfectly with game in sauce, mature cheeses and most beef dishes.

Domaine Cécile Tremblay is a wine estate located in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, France. Cécile Tremblay herself has been at the head of the estate since 2003. She took over the family business and quickly established herself as one of the most talented winemakers in the region.

The history of the estate goes back several generations. The Tremblay family has been growing vines in Vosne-Romanée since the mid-19th century. Originally, the estate was mainly dedicated to the production of grapes, which were sold to other merchants in the region. Cécile Tremblay decided to transform this practice by making her own wines, in order to highlight the exceptional potential of the family vineyards. The estate owns parcels in some of the most prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Nuits, including Grand Cru appellations such as La Tâche, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Echezeaux. Cécile Tremblay attaches great importance to organic viticulture and works meticulously in the vineyards to obtain grapes of the highest possible quality.

In the cellar, Cécile Tremblay adopts a non-interventionist approach, allowing the wine to express itself naturally without the excessive use of chemicals or aggressive winemaking techniques. Her wines are delicately aged, using mainly French oak barrels, to preserve the purity and finesse of the aromas and flavours. Domaine Cécile Tremblay wines are highly sought after by wine lovers and connoisseurs around the world for their exceptional quality, deep expression of terroir and ability to age gracefully. Cécile Tremblay is respected for her passion, her commitment to excellence and her artisanal approach to viticulture and winemaking.
