The Milhard-Bessard family perpetuates the viticultural traditions of the Grand Saint-Emilionnais by offering an authentic organic wine. The fruit of ancestral know-how, Château Vieux Mougnac is much more than just a wine, it is a heritage, a know-how and values that have been passed on since 1870. Indeed, for 5 generations, the vines have been cultivated in an organic way with the great principles of biodynamics. From this passion for nature comes an authentic, rare, unique wine, a Grand Vin de Garde served on the finest tables in France and abroad!
Sylvie Milhard, the 4th generation, first worked as an accountant in the Libourne region before continuing her parents' work.
Born in the midst of the boom in intensive agriculture, she quickly realised that her family's estate was one of the few in the region not to follow the path of globalisation. In order to preserve this know-how and philosophy, Sylvie took over Château Vieux Mougnac in 1991.
For her, this estate is much more than just a vineyard, it is a heritage that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.
The particularity of Château Vieux Mougnac is to market old vintages; wines ready to drink.
