Domaine Ponsot is a renowned wine estate located in Burgundy, France. Founded in 1872 by William Ponsot, the estate is now run by Laurent Ponsot, a fifth generation member of the family. The history of Domaine Ponsot is marked by a constant commitment to quality and tradition. From the outset, William Ponsot sought to produce wines of excellence by exploiting the exceptional terroirs of the Côte de Nuits region. He acquired parcels in prestigious appellations such as Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis and Chapelle-Chambertin. Over the decades, Domaine Ponsot has preserved its heritage and philosophy. Laurent Ponsot, who took over the reins of the estate in the 1980s, was a true pioneer in biodynamic viticulture. He has adopted this environmentally friendly approach to growing his vines, limiting the use of chemicals and promoting the natural balance of ecosystems.

Domaine Ponsot is also known for its refusal to use old wine labels to prevent counterfeiting. Laurent Ponsot has played a key role in the fight against fraud in the wine world, denouncing several cases of fake bottles of Burgundy wine sold at auction.

The wines produced by Domaine Ponsot are renowned for their elegance, complexity and ability to age. The red wines, in particular, from the Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits, such as Clos de la Roche, Griottes-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin, are among the most sought-after and appreciated by wine lovers around the world.

With its rich history and commitment to quality, Domaine Ponsot continues to be an essential reference in Burgundy wine making.
